In Our Voices: Asian American Experiences with Genetic Counseling for Hereditary Cancer

In this session, three Asian American women discuss their experiences with genetic counseling, learning they have an inherited BRCA mutation, and their decisions over the past few years. In partnership with their genetic counselor, who is also an Asian American woman, you will hear about how cultural influences affected their decisions. Presented by Liza Talusan, PhD (University of Massachusetts Boston); Grace Talusan (Brandeis University); Mary Talusan Lacanlale (California State University, Dominguez Hills); Gayun Chan Smutko, CGC (MGH Institute Of Health Professions).
