As the Executive Director of Byrd Cancer Education & Advocacy Foundation and the founder of ITAVFoundation (It Takes A Village), my life's mission is simple: to be a voice for those who silently struggle, unsure of where to seek help or find the support they desperately need. As an immigrant and a community advocate, my passion is deeply rooted in my own journey battling healthcare disparities and the social injustices faced by Black people and other people of color (POC). Leading our organization, I am wholeheartedly committed to our mission of offering knowledge, support and empowerment to individuals navigating the daunting path of cancer.

Byrd Cancer Education & Advocacy Foundation is a 501(C)3 nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, PA. We believe that knowledge is power, especially when it comes to fighting cancer. Our foundation was established to connect people with the support and resources they need to navigate their cancer journey with confidence and resilience. Our slogan, "Knowledge. Support. Empower.," encapsulates our commitment to providing comprehensive assistance to individuals who are affected by cancer.

Our All Things Cancer & Wellness Expo brings together individuals from all walks of life to foster knowledge-sharing, provide support and empowerment, and encourage collaborative efforts in the relentless pursuit of advancing wellness and eliminating cancer. Through this initiative, we offer free breast, chest and other health screenings. Through our partnerships with other organizations, we connect those in need to the right resources and support.
Our mission is clear: To effectively assist individuals battling cancer by connecting them to the support and resources they need. We understand that a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming, and navigating the complex healthcare system can be terrifying. That's why we're here to ensure that all relevant information reaches those in need, guiding them toward the resources necessary to fight their battle against cancer.
