Session: What's new for young previvors
Speaker: Mark Robson, MD
This 90-minute concurrent session will provide information specifically for previvors and high-risk
women who are age 30 or younger. Dr. Robson will discuss:
- standard-of-care risk-management options for previvors
- risks vs. benefits of mammography and other risk-management options for young, high-risk women
- benefits, limitations of surgery vs. surveillance
- age-specific risks for breast and ovarian cancer
- other topics unique to previvors age 30 and younger
This session is appropriate for:
- women who carry a BRCA mutation
- women with hereditary
breast cancer in their family
- relatives/loved ones/caretakers for young women with breast cancer
- patient advocates, support group facilitators, and people who work with high-risk women
- health care providers who treat high-risk women
- social workers/mental health care professionals who treat high-risk women
