Session: Fertility options

This 90-minute concurrent session will focus the emerging research on the link between
BRCA and infertility, and on the options available to cancer survivors and previvors who
wish to preserve their fertility or explore options for preimplantation genetic diagnosis.
Drs. Mayer and Oktay will discuss:

• overview of fertility options and assisted reproductive technology including
  • IVF process
  • Egg and embryo freezing
  • Egg donation
  • Embryo donation
  • PGD
  • Special considerations for breast cancer survivors vs. previvors
• Research linking BRCA mutations with infertility
  

This session is appropriate for:

• women who carry a BRCA mutation or hereditary risk cancer risk
• cancer survivors and previvors
• spouses, partners, loved ones of cancer survivors or previvors
• health care providers who provide care to survivors and previvors
• social workers/mental health care professionals who treat survivors and previvors
